0-120 - 97 Taurus SHO

0-120 mph in my old 1997 SHO. Has a K&N cone filter and 3rd cat delete. Not the fastest car ever, but quick enough to be fun. And the motor sounded goooooooodd. :)

To everyone wondering about "the lag"... If you watch closely, it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear at ~73 mph, then at ~85 mph the revs drop a little again. It's not shifting; 4th gear, which is overdrive, happens at ~115 mph (and yes, my foot was still floored, it'll still shift into OD). Also, if I "manually" move the gear selector from 2nd to 3rd at a higher or lower rpm under WOT, it would still do the little rpm dip. It's just something all SHO's do. But other cars don't so it is weird, lol

@bigtex144  That's the torque converter locking up. My Chevy truck does it in fact, even in third with the foot to the floor. I had a couple '04-05 Taurus' and I never liked the way they shifted into overdrive because Ford always makes their automatics lock up in 3rd gear.

@WhoSaidTyler A torque converter locking up actually does make a perfect explanation. Although that doesn't bother me; In general, locked torque converter should mean less drivetrain power loss :)

If you haven't already...Have the cam sprockets welded to the camshafts...Only major flaw with that engine...

@geekydude21 look at the new sho taurus. Or even the new non sho taurus. 0-60 for non taurus is 7 flat and sho is mid 5's
