While the USA needs excellent math and science teachers and I'm sure these Filipino immigrants are excellent teachers, the school districts would have spent less money by getting already credentialled teachers to get additional credentials in math and sciences such as chemistry, physics, biology, and so on.

You are right, teaching here in US is by far tougher than any other countries in the world. Even though it was a struggle in the 1st year but it's also handsomely rewarding interms of salary and benefits. I love teaching and am lucky enough to teach in one of the title 1 schools in Long Beach Unified School District in California. To the teachers out there, Hurray and Mabuhay!

Teaching here in america is very tough specially on the first year. You have to adjust to different culutures and teaching strategies. Our second year is much better since we have adjusted to the system here abroad. There are a lot of agencies that recruits teachers. Just browse in the OWWA website.

thank you for appreciating the presentation. Hoping that more Filipino will have the chance to work here in America. Indeed, it is a great place!
