Ouch ... that looked painful. When you start running barefoot after so many years of using shoes, yes, you are going to do a heel strike (because that's what you're body is used to)---but then your body realizes the heel strike doesn't work because it starts hurting, so it will naturally adjust to the proper barefoot running form.

Agree with everyone else... the video should be named "how NOT to run barefoot".

holy..... ouch, you need to not land on your heel first bro, seriously painful

Wow look at the tension on in that foot. For a runner this is painful to look at. Nice footage though, no pun intended.

@ihaterobbie123 great point!

great video of over stride trauma. this is heel impact trauma. Inverted "Y" gait pattern can only lead to knee and hip replacement.

Also nice to see that there is absolutely no flexing action in the toes. The big one even continuously points skyward!
Indeed a "how NOT to run barefoot" instruction!!
Quite informative that way though.

This is a human, the best overall runners on the planet, who doesn't know how to run.
And before anyone says "horses are better" no they aren't. There are monks and tribes in some parts of the world the males of which can run almost 2 marathons every day. And when our nail breaks we don't die, like horses.
We really are an amazing species with incredible physical talent, people seem to forget this.
