SpringField XDM 40 Complete Detailed Disassembly !!!

I am giving a warning and disclaimer on this video, do not attempt to disassemble or reassemble a Springfield XDM unless you have complete confidence in your ability with firearms. This should only be done by qualified armorers or gunsmiths. This is for educational purposes only. I have to say, this is one of the most difficult pistols to do a reassembly on, the disassembly is not to bad but reassembly will test your patience.and your skills, especially if you go into it blind like John and I did.
The dis-assembly should be looked at really good before beginning and could void your warranty. I actually enjoy the challenge of doing these types of videos and have been doing them for my whole life, I have a ton of confidence in my abilities.Now, with all that said, I had a blast taking this firearm apart but also see why I like the Glock over the XDM. Please, do not get me wrong, I think they are fine pistols but I love simplicity and think there is way to much going on in a XDM for my liking. That is my personal opinion.
I did the dis-assembly in one video, then the re-assembly and the slide will have their own seperate videos. It will be a 3 part series. Actually 4, including a range video that is planned for this coming Tuesday.

@ChromeFreak123 I'm a smith. Just haven't had much experience on xdm's. Nothing new inside. Just configured a little different. The video helped answer some questions I had so I could avoid chasing springs. And you weren't kidding about that grip safety spring. Talk about a pain in the you know what. lol

Looks wise the XDm has it but will have to agree with you that i like the simplicity of the disassembly of the glock compared to the XDm. I don't mind mind the grip safety but it would of been nice to have a little less parts when taking the pistol apart.

Oh better lighting would of been nice. Overall great vid.
