Understanding when and how pathogens such as HIV become human pathogens can help us control the diseases with which we live and prevent future pathogen transfers. Dr. Katia Koelle talks about what we can learn from reconstructing viral histories, including some unexpected applications. November 2008.
This video obviously targets students of evolution, and not the general piblic, i was quite happy to learn new things from it!

@REEL2REELNEWS
AIDS wasn't developed in a vaccine. It is a variant of the Simian Immunodeficiency Virus that was passed on by human interaction with monkeys and apes (most likely butchering).
It became an epidemic after mass transit became more efficient and less time-consuming which allowed it to spread much faster.

This video demonstrates exactly why creationist conspiracy theorists are able to hold their own in debates against real scientists.
It has everything to do with presentation. The scientist in this video can barely speak. Every other word is "uh" or "um". Why couldn't they find someone else there who could actually present scientific ideas lucidly?
I realize scientists are usually nerds, but in the forum of public opinion you need to some social grace. Learn to speak!

Its sad that this video has less than 1000 views in one year. Shows you the human capacity for ignorance.
