Pat Benatar- Wuthering Heights (vinyl)

From the 1980 LP: "Crimes Of Passion" (Chrysalis CHE-1275) Written by Kate Bush. I bought this copy when it came out in 1980. This is the first version of this song that I heard, not hearing Kat...

At least PB tries to do something different with the song. But the original is arguably one of the great pop singles of all time, so PB's version will always pale in comparison to Kate's.

I was junior in high school when this came out. I have always been a fan of Pat. I sure do miss the sound of a vinyl record!

Oh, OK, the opening riff? Who would care about that? .... no more comments. It is the vocals ..... isn't it? Not some damn guitarr and a note here and there. The tune is so unique that even if you tamper with it here and there it still stands out and it is the vocals IMHO.

My other comment is how dare he play this record? I would make ONE pass and digitalize it immediately and the store the record in a dark cellar.

Okay IDK what you guys are talking about, But I thought I would inform you that the crimes of Passion record you happen to have is HIGHLY collectible. It's a misprinted label on the record. The record company didn't anticipate the albums sales so they rushed for emergency printing, and ran out of labels...So, they used a generic white label instead of the blue chrysalis label. Anyway, you have a gem on your hands, it's rumored that there is only a few hundred copies in existence.

I read something about that awhile back, and I wondered if this is one of them. But then again I've always seen this album on the white custom label. I bought this copy new when it came out. I wish now I wouldn't have written my name on the label. It will never leave my collection though.

Same here Jeff. I bought this tape when it came out, & loved this song. Not realizing it was a cover, I have always been partial to the Benatar version, with Neil Giraldo's great guitar work. Also...love the sound of that vinyl popping on this video.

"didn't want you to think I agreed with you" sounds like you care. Okay, bye.
