"The strangest bit of art was in Denver, where we met a man called Jerry Simpson. He not only made art from some of the junk available in the USA, but also had the most extraordinary and HUGE collection of identical things, from toys to lint, that he was ostensibly planning to use in his work. But his enormous library of annotated trash was an installation in itself and disconcerting in its overwhelming consistency. He had accumulated and filed almost everything you could store."

Interview with Artland USA presenter Toby Amies
