Wow, yeah, as a tech, gotta tell ya, the little girl would get serious injuries from the incorrectly used car seat. The straps are way too loose for one thing!

It looks like you've propped her up on a blanket or towel or something to help her fit into the harness? Please read the car's manual, I'm certain this is not safe at all.

As a technician, I do hope the harness is tightened (snug such that you cannot pinch a horizontal crease at the collar bone) & position the chest clip on the chest bone.... If she's not yet AT LEAST 12 months + 20# then she needs to be rear-facing (ideally until the maximum limits of a convertible carseat)! Also, do you have a spare seat (since this integrated seat is useless if she needs to ride in another vehicle for emergency, etc)?

because it is something serious. Lose straps can KILL baby in a car accident. Seems serious to me. They are trying to be helpful and educate the parnets for the babies sake! Many parents are thankful for that!
