@stitch99 , you are right in observing that Judas' motivation for betrayal is not overtly played up in this movie..after seeing this rendition several times, I think that Judas' predominant driving force is envy after Jesus' recognition of Peter as being blessed for correctly identifying Him as the Messiah.
