This is part two of my home studio tour - it is one of my more recent songs - Places - playing on Cubase 4. I hope you enjoy it. Gina Peterson is the vocalist. I also just posted a new version of this song on my website - http://www.SweetSoundStudios.com - on the Music page - I think it's pretty cool and it has gotten some really good reviews - I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think of the new version. Thanks.

  • Do you like the DBX 386, I've been looking into getting one

  • @HEYJoeSergio - For the price I think you get a fair amount of value. The tube (12AX7, 1 per channel) gives some nice warmth and natural compression. I like it but my dream is to get a UA 6176 - at $2,400, it probably won't be a reality for a while.

  • I love the studio! the song is nice too (I would make the main vocal a little more natural, otherwise, thumbs up :), one more thing, it might help if you make the sudio look more organized, the equipment is pro but the problem is that it looks too much like a home studio, in a clean environment itll have a more professional atmosphere and next thing you know Norah Jones will be asking you to be her producer :)

  • @Samueltmacy - I appreciate the complements and I know I need to do something with the clutter. Unfortunately, my main business (mortgages) is very paper intensive and it's hard to keep ahead of the curve sometimes. I'm working on it, though. Thanks again.

  • i am loving the music

  • @DimecheWorld - Thanks for the compliment - you can check out all of my music on my website. I can give that to you in a personal message. Let me know if you want me to master your album. I would need the .wav files.

  • listening to the song i cant help thinking: all this equipment for this?

  • Honestly, The lyrics are rather trite and rhymie.. but somehow it grows on me. The song has a certain charm about it.

  • Very nice song. I don't think your studio is cluttered. But it might be because I'm a tax accountant. hahah.

  • @blewers - Thanks for the compliment. I've actually remixed it a few times and changed up the arrangement and think I've got an even better song. I have some spots where there is just singing and others where only the drums are playing with the vocals. I've cut the length down by about 1:30 and kept all of the words.
