iPad and phone as modem paradigms revisited

Mrbit did not take into account the cost of the pre paid phone minutes in his paradigm nor did he take into account the convenience of phone as modem Vs. the iPad 3G. While the iPad might be a better option for mrbit than the iPhone is it realy the best solution for mobile computing?

Some of them are real close. Even the Sony laptops are about as thin as the iPad for about the same price plus you get Fire Wire, PCI Express and many other ports.

Who said I am? I am stating that the iPhone nor the iPad are the best mobile solution. I am using a 3G network right now and they can suck at times. I doubt Mrbit will be able ot use iCall like he wants to while driving. Mrbit emailed me that he is getting 4G from Sprint in his area. Sprint will be 4G nation wide by the end of this year. The 3G iPad is a joke considering AT&T has crappy 3G coverage.
