Did someone yell Cannonball Run?

Once again it is time to register for the Great American Run; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all you gear heads, octane sniffers and sports car lovers alike; get set for the driving experience of a lifetime.

The Cannonball is indulgent, hedonistic and definitely isnt for the faint-hearted!

The race will start on September 1st Los Angeles and will cover 1650 miles through a host of checkpoints before finishing back in LA. Each checkpoint has been hand-picked to create the extreme levels of exhilaration and fullon entertainment that The Great American Run is renowned.

The event pits each night at the designated checkpoints, which have luxury hotels, where the party will continue into the small hours. The winning car is not the first to cross the finishing line, but rather the one that is closest to the target average speed of 61mph.

Sounds exhaustingnot a bit

The event is a tour-based rally designed to be exhilarating yet entertaining.

It is an outrageous cocktail of fun and mayhem at which participants can meet like-minded enthusiasts and access extensive networking opportunities in a unique atmosphere.

The Great American continues to break the mould and this year is no exception. All entrants will be supplied with a free rental car* in which they will compete against their fellow drivers to become the Cannonball champion.

Michael Porter, Events Director, said "With the current economy still looking rather bleak, The Great American Run would like to help as many US companies as possible in 2010 by offering free sponsorship to selected companies. This move will hopefully alleviate some of the pressure that companies are facing with their marketing and advertising resources."

With seven hugely successfully events under their belt, Cannonball Run World Events is starting the next decade with an explosion in all eight cylinders ands looks ready to produce the goods once again.
