The men's 400 Free Relay from the dual meet between the Texas A&M Aggies and SMU Mustangs on January 29, 2010.
With the No. 19 Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team needing a first- and third-place finish in the final race of the night, the Aggies delivered exactly that in the 400-yard freestyle relay for a heart-pumping 119-118 win over No. 23 SMU at the Perkins Natatorium on the SMU campus.
The foursome of junior Balazs Makany, freshman John Dalton, senior Casey Strange and junior Boris Loncaric hit the wall first in 2:59.70, and the Aggies' "B" relay of senior Sean Duckworth, freshmen Austin Wilson and Randal Smith and senior Jason Bergstrom grabbed the winning points in third in a time of 305.17.
"That was a great ending to a great college swim meet," Aggie head coach Jay Holmes said. "We talked all week about how we expected it to come down to the final relay, and I'm so proud of the guys from being prepared and rising to the challenge."
