OMG! That's the horny Tad Martin I remembered!

I'll always remember when Lyman's "Opal" found out "Phoebe's" husband, "Langley Walingford," was two-timing her, threw his clothes in the "Glam-O-Rama's" incinerator after giving him a massage, and sent him out in the streets of "Pine Valley" wearing only a towel! Ha-ha!
And when Lyman as "Opal" ran for mayor of "Pine Valley," her slogan was "Go All The Way With Opal!"

I am a guy, loved AMC in the era of Greg and Jenny, oddly, I somehow remember Tad and Greg as the same person. Opal was my favorite character on the show and one of my all-time favorites period.

Really, though, "AMC" couldn't have done a better re-casting of "Opal" than Larson, but a copy is still not as good as an original.

I'm glad I shook your memory--I tried telling a friend of mine this once & she'd forgotten, I think never noticed the change of actresses, because Larson so resembled Lyman (which I'm sure was the intent of "AMC's" casting director). But there WAS a difference between the two's acting styles--Lyman much more vicious when crossed and hilarious when being good-natured. I'd say Larson is "Opal Lite" by comparison.

Lyman as "Opal Gardner" and Jennifer Bassey's "Marion Colby Chandler" were two of the wickedly-funniest characters ever to appear in the cast of "All My Children!"
I wish they would air re-runs on Soap Net. Maybe this would spark a new following or a resurgence of the old. Perhaps doing so could bring AMC back to the airwaves where it belongs....wishful thinking?

@tonivalluzzi Soap Net is over sometime this spring because Disney thinks there's a need for a channel aimed at toddlers.
Funny how there are niche channels on cable for just about everything, except Soaps
You can watch one legged animals in drag selling real estate somewhere, I'm sure. But no chance of ever seeing old soaps again, unless it's here on YouTube.
