VISA 110 Final Project

Artists' Statement:

For this final project I chose to investigate technology's effect on an individual's personal space, espeically on how future technology can fully occupies and affects our personal space. By looping some scenes of the clip, I emphasize the interaction between people is no longer face-to-face but through technology. People communicate with each other through different kinds of electronic devices without real talking or body language. Augmented space and augmented reality attempt to fill physical space with additional electronic and visual information. They also aim to use technologies to melt together digital and physical space. (Manovich 2002). Through the combination of technological and physical space, there is a sacrifice of various aspects of the physical space. Overall, people's daily life and personal spaces have become an augmented space. In the future, people will be even more dependent on technology in their daily life, from morning until night, is shaped and punctuated by Internet and computer technology.
