Down With USA! Students protest killing of 150 civilians in Farah

Afghan officials in Bala Baluk district of Farah province in Western Afghanistan have said dozens of civilians died in bombing runs on Monday, May 5, 2009 when US air planes bombed the villagers. One official said he collected the names of 147 people killed in the fighting.

Hundreds of people in Afghanistan have held rallies in protest to the recent US air strikes which killed more than 140 civilians west of the country.

Sunday's rallies, held by Kabul university students, come on top of days of protests in Kabul and other major cities across Afghanistan following the US air operation in two villages in Bala Baluk district in the Farah Province.

Protestors chanted slogans like 'Death to America' and 'Death to the biggest terrorist', demanding the trial of Americans responsible for the killing of civilians in the air strikes.
