It used to be that when you went into the BC to fight Maat, he would have the stats you entered with. They fixed that though I believe, so yeah.

I had this same thing happen to me on the 60 ENM "Pulling the strings" goblin rolled Manafont so I ran out of range since the puppet doesn't move while Manafont is active waited a good 2 mins expecting to see the puppet anytime... no luck rested to full even... so I got up ran around the corner only to get 1 shoted by a Tornado -.-

Beat him on the second try no problem...didn't have the space to record it though. Yeah, basically did the same thing just with different tier -ga III's. But also that time he decided to melee me...only reason I won was blink bank. ^^;

you do not cast ice spikes lol.... you diffently did it wrong.:P I'm a lvl 68 elvaan when i hit 70 I will do it but I believe ice spikes is way not needed.lol
