At the Presidential Inaugural Opening Ceremony: We Are One on Sunday, 18 January 2009, the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, DC, performs "My Country 'Tis of Thee" with Josh Groban and Heather Headley on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. This segment is introduced by Queen Latifah. Note: Thanks to HBO for deciding to allow the sharing of clips of this historic event. HBO retains all copyright.
I am going to guess and say, we will never hear our national song at a republican inaugural, being sung by any Gay Men's Chorus.

At this moment I was thrilled; there could still be hope for diddidents in the usa...
but the history has shown different during these Obama-years. Last weeks we here in Europe have read abt restrictions on union-workers; wisconsin-ohio....
God bless Europe of republikans in the usa !!!

I would have loved to hear Josh sing it by himself. His voice is simply amazing.

This has to be the most amazing moment for the GMCW. I got chills down my back when I first sat it a few weeks ago.

I'm so glad that HBO has not (yet) discovered this part of America's collective heritage that they have appropriated for themselves.
