Weissenfels Snow Socks are really convenient to use. Unlike snow chains, traction is provided by an all-covering raised rib textured fabric with no metal parts being used. The big advantages are many: - Provided there is sufficient hand room to pull them over the top of the tyre, they are extremely quick and simple to fit. Since they fit snugly against the tyre, they are ideal for cars with limited clearances. Fitting is also made easier since there is absolutely nothing to adjust and they automatically self centre as you drive. With no metal chain in contact with the road, snow socks are totally smooth running with absolutely no vibration or noise being apparent, giving maximum driving comfort on snow-covered roads. Snow socks are supplied with a pair of elbow length plastic gloves, easy to follow fitting and demounting instructions and a neat compact carrying case.
Please note that these type of products are designated purely as emergency devices and are not always considered a substitute for conventional snow chains in European ski areas where local legislation for snow chains is compulsory or prevailing conditions dictate. In our opinion, for skidrive holidays, the ideal solution is to take snow socks but also to carry a pair of snow chains should the conditions or local legislation demand they be used.
