Nick stopped in the exact center of the front and studied the microphone, glancing around. Sharon smiled, "What's your name sweetie?"

"N-Nicholas," my little brother said quietly.

"Are you nervous Nicholas?" David asked. Nick nodded. "Don’t be nervous buddy. Just do your thing."

Kevin handed Cannon the CD of audio to Nick's song, and he placed it in the drive for the huge stereo that was connected to the sound system. As the music started, I could see the apprehension and stiffness in Nick's body melt away.

"I've been wasting my time, I've been losing my mind. I've been running races, still don't know what I've been chasing. But my eyes still can see, bluer skies that wait for me , and I'm on my way," Nick sang. "Time for me to fly! Time for me to soar! Time for me to open up my heart and knock on heaven's door."

I could tell the whole room was shocked that this little boy, my baby cherry, had such a strong voice. Some people had wide eyes, the judges definitely did. Cheering came from the onlookers. I folded my hands in front of my face, watching my brother.

He was singing better than I had ever heard him sing before. When the music finally cut off, they were standing. Sharon and David clapped with smiles, while Pierce grinned up at Nick from his judges chair.

"Wow," Sharon said once the audience had finally calmed down. She opened her mouth to say more, but cut off. She was looking at the stage, towards our side. Nick followed her eyes, and I followed his. Frankie was wobbling out towards Nick.

Nick Cannon laughed as he trotted out onto the stage and lifted Frankie up. He continued out to stop beside Nick and kneeled down beside him. Frankie wiggled out of his arms and sat in front of Nick on the stage.

I couldn't help but laugh, and Sharon did as well. They each praised my brother, said he had talent...then put him through to the next round. Nick smiled and waved as he led Frankie by his hand off the stage. I picked up the toddler as Kevin swung Nick around.

"You were amazing baby!" Kevin exclaimed.

"I did it Kevy! I did it!" Nick was smiling from ear to ear. He reached out for Joe when he caught sight of his older brother. Joe smiled and pulled his little brother into his arms.

"You were great Nicky. I can't wait to see you perform in Vegas."

Joe's POV

I was sitting in Mrs. Cole's class. Kiera had gotten me out of her homeroom, but I still had her for English. I just had to have the queen of evil teachers in my worst subject. She called me out in front of the class time and time again for my struggling grades.

She was in the middle of her lesson on sentence parts, and some kids behind me were talking. I was paying attention, because I really wanted to bring my grade up. Suddenly, Mrs. Cole barked, "Joseph Jonas, principal's office, now!"

I jumped. "What did I do?"

"Talking!" she exclaimed, scribbling furiously on a sticky note that she held up for me to take.

"That wasn't me," I said.

"Back talk and disobedience," she yelled, writing that on there to. "Come before I call the principal to come get you."

"It wasn't me Mrs. Cole, I swear!"

"That's it!" She buzzed the office. "I need Mr. Brown to come an escort a student to his office."

People around me were sniggering, but I was scared. If Mrs. Cole told her story, I would most definitely be getting paddled. I have never been given more than my hairbrush from Kevin. I'm literally trembling. The door to the class room opened.

I'm dead.

It wasn't Mr. Brown that came through, but Coach Curd. He is the assistant principal and head of corporal punishment. He also hated me. Not only did he have his paddle in his hands already, put his face held an evil smirk that scared the shit out of me.

"Joseph, go with Mr. Curd," Mrs. Cole said, handing the man her sticky note.

I stood, shaking in fear, and made my way over to him. I walked behind him to his office, biting my nails. I was for sure going to get paddled. He dropped the paddle on his desk as he sat behind it. I lowered myself into one of the seats there.

"So...talking throughout the lesson, disturbing the class, back talk, disobedience, and being rude to the teacher.” Mr. Curd smirked at me. "You're in for it now."

I couldn't speak for the fear I was experiencing. Coach Curd picked up the paddle as he stood. "Over the desk Jonas."

I didn't know how else to get out of this, but I stood and bent over the desk. I gripped the edges to steady my trembling hands. I took a deep breath…

CRACK!

  • ouch!

  • =[ no kevy save hims he didnt do it!

  • i really hope they don't get mad at joe! loved it so much.

  • I hope Kevin gets pissed at the teachers, not at Joe. Those teachers deserve a good paddling.

  • I'm gonna hurt that stupid teacher!

    Poor joe :/

  • That's so not fair!

I hope the family find out, and get them done!

Stupid teachers, always thinking they're right.

  • kevin will FREAK! thankyou for finally posting this chapter.

  • poor joe i wonder how kiera and kevin will react cant wait for the next one

  • They should have to call the child's (Joe's in this case) guardians first and a guardian should have to come and at least witness the punishment to see that it is done fairly. I also think that Curd (which I just realized rhymes with turd hahaha) should have heard Joe's side of the story first.

  • awh, poor joe :(
