Allicons - Defence guardians (rather than actual transforming, they change chest, tail and arms in robo-alligator mode).
Sharkticons - Prison guardians (transform into robo-amphibious sharks).
Gladiators - Entertaining troops; afterwards named Decepticons (for their betrayal against the 'brother' Autobots); different in types, learnt transformation from Autobots.
Autobots - Working class; different in types, unable to transform, during 2nd war learnt how to do that against 'brother' Decepticons.

I wonder why they never release the toys during that year?

To be honest, I always preferred the look of the Quintesson Guards to that of the Sharkticons, though I do like both.

This episode must of been a Toei-based animated episode as it looks better than AKOM.

I agree. Though I think you can get one custom made. You just gotta find the right person to make the toy and have enough money. I plan on doing that.

Wow this is the first time I've heard this thing get referenced. I remember when I watched the movie for the first time I was always confused why they shared the screen with the Sharkticons, but never got a toy release in the same way the Sharkticons did. Later I just forgot about this being in the show. I read online a few years ago somebody calling it the Alligatorcon :) Not sure if that was ever an official title for it. Great clip thinks for the upload.

@hootyhaha The Alligatorcon is a beast the Constructicons made out of parts of Optimus Prime in season 2's "City of Steel" (video id: DF2iRpingfE). As I recall, these are sometimes called Allicons, but that doesn't seem to have come from the script or the production bible.

@AeonMagnus That's so weird. After I read what you said I now recall watching that episode and later realizing that Alligatorcon was the wrong label for the guards. I guess slowly over time I got back into the habbit of calling them the wrong thing :) Thanks for the info and reminder. A side note, I noticed this clip seems to have better animation than other G1 segments.

@hootyhaha It's one of only a handful from season 3 that was animated by Toei, who had done season 1 and most of season 2, but were largely replaced by the cheaper, more error-prone AKOM in the post-movie era.
