This tune, known in other contexts as 'Come, come ye saints' was arranged for Sacred Harp by J.T. White in the original edition of 1844. The words were taken from the collection 'Revival Melodies' (1842). Recorded at the Michiana Singing, near Goshen Indiana, July 19, 2009.

  • This is awesome! To face death with courage is every Christian's hope.

  • Yes! This theme of accepting the fact that we all die, and finding some spiritual truth and serenity in contemplating our mortality, is a very common one in Sacred Harp songs.

  • @kbrtiger22 Yes, dear friend, and these verses express beautifully how we can face it if we belief firmly in Christ. Hearing this always sends chills up and down my arms.
