From the parking area on Clingmans Dome it's just a short half mile walk to the observation tower. Here we visit the top at 6,643 it is the highest mountain in the Smokies as well as the highest point in Tennessee.

  • great video... was just out there earlier this month. Looks like you dodged some weather, I fail at dodging bad weather :). Great view; it is a shame the camera doesn't fully capture it all.

  • Those mountains are sharp as arrows but roll like hills. Breathtaking!

  • Thumbs up for the littlest hiker, she seems to be having a pretty good time!

  • My wife and I did that a few years ago on our anniversary... she didn't handle that elevated walkway too well, practically had a panic attack. Guess we have to skip that new observation deck at the Grand Canyon, haha. But she wasn't all that scared of the suspension bridge at Grandfather Mountain for some reason.

  • There is no better time than the time spent with family. Reminds me of the times and places my parents would take me and my brothers so many years ago.

  • Ahhh home sweet home, i was just drivin through there yesterday. great video.

  • Great video! Makes me miss the NC mountains...I will make it back there someday..Anyhow, Thanks for sharing!

  • I see we have two poets here...hehe ;o)
