This is a Shaolin Dao (broadsword) form performed at my home on January 5th, 2008. This form was taught to me by my teacher Nganga Mfundishi Tolo-naa and is part of the Jing Wu Martial Arts Association curriculum.

  • Hi,

    Just a question.

Have you learned the applications to most or all of the techniques of your form? Do you have any two person training drills?

  • Yes, there are many two person drills that can be derived from the form. Some applications I have been taught, and others I have figured out on my own. All the movements can be applied multiple ways, and the more you work the techniques, the more your understanding increases, and new ways of applying will become self evident.

  • thats your home! dude you have a bad ass training spot + a really good form! :D

  • Bought the house specifically for the garage space in order to teach my classes from home. Thanks for the compliment.

  • yeah man! any time. hey do you happen to know the 8 animal bagua form?

  • No I do not.

  • Excellent technique!

  • @slipmat707 Thank you for your comment.

  • Excellent form! Strong skill stance and everything is very pronounced, I especially liked the clean tornado kick/butterfly. There is a Bagua Dao form that includes these same steps although it's quite longer, 34 moves in all (I've got the moves/names in Chinese/English passed down through the Yin Fu Pai).

Great job again, I'm sure you make your masters smile :)

  • Nice Shaolin form.

  • keep on practicing!

  • Very nice!

  • Good form you have a very nice place to do kung fu at home.

    Congratulations

  • good form...and you have the coolest garage ever!

I'd turn my garage into a training hall, but my roommate would flip out the first time she came home and the garage door wouldn't open...=(
