  • anybody can help post what Sheldon said in the show about the astrology, it's too fast that I can't even follow

  • -- that's prolly enough about us, tell us about you!

-- oh, me? okay.. i'm a sagitarius, which probably tells you way more than you need to know..

-- yes.. it tells us that you participate in the mass cultural dellusion that the sun's apparent position relative to arbitrarily defined constellations at the time of your birth somehow affects your personality

    -- participate in the what?!

  • I just think its nice to have a comedy about smart people, rather than the usual dimwitted comedies which, although funny, get old after one or two seasons.

  • @JakeyJake95 if you actually believe in astrology, you are a fool

  • @JakeyJake95 You do realize that about four people are born a second, right? Thousands would share the exact same horoscope even taking into account birth charts. Hardly unique.

  • @TheHeidelbergKid Yes, if the horoscope in question only applies to a person's sun sign (the sign they were born under). Astrologers see these types of horoscopes as highly vague and generalized. That's why they calculate birth charts, which tell all of the planets' positions (which signs they were in) at the time of one's birth. Using a birth chart, an astrologer can build a horoscope that is unique to the person to whom the chart belongs.

  • @JakeyJake95 Okay. There are twelve zodiac signs, and at least six billion people on Earth (I know it broke seven, but six makes the math easier). Due to the pigeonhole principle (look it up), a single horoscope applies to at least half a billion people. Don't you think a single horoscope, being as vague as it is, would apply to some of such a great number of people?

  • In a later episode, Sheldon dismissed astrology as "pseudo-scientific hokum," and Penny answered, "Blah, blah, blah, typical Taurus!" Now, I don't believe in astrology, but Taureans (i.e., Sheldon) ARE said to scoff at newfangled ideas and dismiss them as, well, "hokum." Hmm... weird.

  • i <3 sheldon. and i love this scene because what he says is so true

  • @TheAvengerPrince Agreed. Seinfeld and The Big Bang Theory are brilliant. Although, The Office was funny for more than two seasons!

  • i love this scene!!

  • I like sheldons shirt in this episode, he should wear that more often! too bad that his pants has been stolen
