I really started to listen to Joni Mitchell after the death of my mother in 1988. I was only 27 years old. Little did I know that while I was seeking to lose myself in the death of my mother, Joni was seeking to find her daughter, which she had given away at birth. I drowned myself in a maze of booze and liazons, all to no avail. This was truly my "blue period." She is really amazing. Who knew!

This song is so full of beautifully honest heartbreak. She serves such truth in her poetry and delivery. You can feel every bit of emotion running throughout your body when listening to this. It breaks down all of my walls. One day, I want to be an artist just like this. Joni Mitchell is incredible.
