Hi! My Fide Elo is 2023. I had just watched 1 video of the Reti-Gambit and today my opponent played the french defense. Then I just thought...why not?... I played very well and won the game. My opponets Fide Elo is 2061

Thank you so much for posting this, this defense is not only very fun but often effective. Most of my opponents play the french and this information is very useful thanks so much I have won three games against the french in three days using this gambit. Great stuff!

i just played a match where my opponent played the french and it was the first match after i saw this video. All though he didnt take the pawn(he push d pawn) i still won. And he was much higher rated than me

@CJones13 - The Reti Gambit isn't a defense, it's an *attack*. Black is on the defensive from the beginning, not white.

@TTPmonster - Okay, what does that have to do with the Reti Gambit? Did you play this opening and lose with it? Is that what you are saying?

i lost to a 1700 rated, and i was so upset because i should've won that game!
well i don't know exactly my rating, but i've won against 2,100 rated player before.

Hello talhechin! :) Thank you very much for this very interesting video on the Reti Gambit. It is wonderful to have openings in your repertoire that aren't well known, but are strong openings. What do you think of using the Reti Gambit vs the Sicilian Defense? After studying it for some time now, I am having some success with the Reti Gambit vs the Sicilian Defense. Taking the Sicilian Defense player out of their well known book lines tends to open things up a bit. :)
