  • Expressions are totally emotive, subtleties galore!!

The complete team is great. Chandru, Narasimhan, Sekhar. Who is the white violinist, btb?

  • Thanks for your nice comments. The violinist you are referring to is French virtuoso guest violinist Gilles Apap (who has mastered many styles of playing).

  • there is no western classical music here...

  • Mr. Narasimhan's new music style incorporates the use of Western Classical compositional elements such as harmony, counterpoint, etc. The pieces however, are traditional Carnatic pieces and while the music does sound very Indian indeed, you can hear the Western Classical elements and their impact on Indian compositions quite clearly.

  • i have been listening to this kinop music fer years,i love it. narsinhan's violen is so moving. check the range of emotion in it.

think romance, sadness, longing, anticipation, extasy, anguish and you can use this piece for all these feelings.

hense the universal nature of indian music.

the blend between east and west is beautiful.

  • Its brilliant....

  • Best Indian European Fusion I remember, more interesting than Menuhin. Please send me a CD!

  • GILLS APAP...ACCOMPANYING...FINE

  • Beautiful...this raga is so close to Jana ranjini....

  • @swathimuralee thank you for your answer. It is more clear right now, and more interesting too. Obviously, the counter point was the point here.

  • @geneosis VSN is playing a carnatic classical piece composed by Saint Thyagaraja in the ragam Devamanohari, while others are playing the matching western part (chords or counter point).

Ilaiyaraja have used a transcription piece of Bach in his album 'How to name it?'. In that a pure western classical piece of Bach is being played by some western violinist (Bach's prelude in E minor, but in a very much slower version) and VSN playing notes purely in carnatic classical style. Thanks

  • this seems to me to be wise and joyful.

  • is it really a kind of transcription of bach piece? What piece of Bach is it exactly? Somebody can answer to this please? I'm curious to listen the original. Thank you

  • Simply Outstanding.

  • This is Gilles Apap back there at second violin.
