This is a demonstration of a magnetic stripe spoofer that I built that works by playing data in a sound file through an electromagnet in order to trick a magnetic stripe reader into thinking that a particular card has been swiped through it.

  • This is not a particularly difficult concept. A magnetic stripe is merely a series of bits encoded as different magnetic values (0 and 1). Any electromagnet could reproduce this, just as you can use your iPod to drive a cassette tape player over your car stereo.

  • Bull-sh*t.

  • WTF? is this true not?

  • fake

  • The beauty of YouTube.... I was learning about making music... clicked on "DL Magnetic Stripe as MIDI Controller". Clicked on "Magnetic Stripe Spoofer Demonstration", just like that, I'm watching how to vids on credit card fraud and bank robbery.
