  • @leomayrinck They destroyed all the old planes just a few months ago :(

  • @miragebym Why did they destroy the planes?

  • @BaThEeShA the land changed hands and the new owner wanted them gone I assume. a Metal scrapping company was hired and destroyed them... It was sad to watch....

  • @NPCarling26 No not blood, although it looks like it. It's some kind of lichen that has gotten between the cracks of the glass.

  • @starguard If you get rid of the old you have no heritage ;)

  • wow what a waste of my god damn tax money

  • If we dont get rid of the OLD, how will we make room for the NEW (Chinese Proverb)

  • Cool...but very sad video. St Augustine Airport was the site of a Grumman rework facility. I used to see lots of S-2's and A-6 Intruders while doing touch and gos there.

  • This proves a point. Perfectly good planes left to rot why? Sell them to people who could use them and enjoy them! Let their history live on!

  • Nice video - brilliant colour work.

  • Aircraft have a short life, and once the fatigue wins, it's time to dump. If these flew from carriers, they were even more stressed. S2F's were family for us...

  • Our tax dollars put to good use, the military didn't even take them to scrap them or recycle them, they just left them to rot. Fuck it right? It's not our money, it's the taxpayers!

  • these planes have been there since i was a kid

  • @leomayrinck

Here is the location on Bing Maps:

    bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nzqpjx86nkyk&lvl=19.4&dir=350.27&sty=b&form=LMLTCC

or Ave A and 1st St in St. Augustine. About a 1/2 mile south of the airport or so. Looks like there is a junk yard across the street and a prison behind that.
