A very nice animation-movie from 2002 with Charlie Brown and all the other peanuts.

A Charlie Brown Valentine was the first Peanuts special to be produced after the death of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz in 2000. It also marked the first time a Peanuts special was animated with Digital ink and paint vs. Traditional cel animation. It also utilized the drawing style similar to the comic strip, with a white outline around Lucy's hair and Snoopy's ears (this was dropped in future specials).

The bulk of the music score is comprised of classic melodies composed by Vince Guaraldi, some tunes which had only be utilized once ("Heartburn Waltz"). Other more notable tunes, such as "Charlie Brown theme", "Peppermint Patty" and a jazz/rock version of "Linus and Lucy", were used as well.

A Charlie Brown Valentine also depicts the Little Red-Haired Girl in full view, though she remains unnamed in this special (in contrast to her first full-view appearance in It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown when she was named Heather).

  • Peppermint Patty: Have you been given a lot of valentines in your time, Chuck.

Charlie Brown: No, I've never received a single valentine.

I guess he either forgot that Violet gave him a valentine once, or this took place before Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.

  • You know, Sally, most people are happy if their dog can roll over and fetch. Cut Snoopy some slack on his poetry, huh?

  • its cool how they put in modern animation and the same classic elements of the peanuts! spot on.

  • Happy Valentines Day!

  • This is such a classic. Since I first saw it, I decided to watch it every Valentine's Day as well as "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown," even though I never saw it before.

  • wonderful.

  • Don't worry, Snoopy. Your poetry still makes more sense than whatever that comes out from Sarah Palin's mouth.

  • snoopy is funny :)

  • Most likely he forgot.

  • @cbsteffen "Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown" was an animated special written by Charles Schulz, but "A Charlie Brown Valentine" was a compilation of gags taken directly from the comic strip after Schulz died. Schulz was always clear that the specials were not canonical to the strip, even though he wrote both, hence the inconsistencies (e.g. Peppermint Patty says she doesn't have a mother in the strip, but talks about her mom's list of chores in the "He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown" special.)
