Possibly more than 10.000 people gathered in the centre of Moldovan Capital Chisinau this morning at 10 am. The seemingly peaceful demonstration turned into an aggressive protest, leading to smashing of the president palace's windows, doors and plundering of the premises. Furniture, computers and paperwork were taken out of the building and set on fire. Police and city forces have been entrenched inside of both buildings: the president and the parliament building.
The situation seems to have gone out of control. The opposition parties have tried to calm down the mass but without success. The fact that no police and or armed forcees have been involved raises few questions. Is the president watching and gathering enough evidences to prove that free and liberal forces can lead only to instability?
To be followed.
