the Native Americans were actual descendants, the U.S. is much more transparent than most countries that only show the world their cutest kid, cheat in the olympics, etc.
-
and not a single fuck was given that day.

To GAGALOVER347: Don't you know that several years later since 2008, both girls are very successful both in lives and acting?! Don't assume anything before you really know Chinese culture. Don't you realize that you've been brainwashed by those biased and crazy China-bashing propaganda media machines?!

"thats the controversy"
To GAGALOVER347: What's the controversy? There was no controversy in and outside China except for those frantic anti-China u.s. media! Both girls were listed on the olympic performance program, both girls got paid. Both girls can sing well but one is a little shy and Lin is a better performer. In the end, the director decided to have Lin to sing. No one wants to mess up with an Olympic opening ceremony!

@russiangymfan You realize thats not her voice?!?! Another little girl sang that but she "wasn't cute enough" to be put in... thats the controversy

Yes she mimed. It's not the fact she was miming, it's the fact she replaced a girl because her face was 'unsuitable'! It's like saying, 'Sorry you can't enter the Paralympics because you only have one leg!' - It completely goes against everything the Olympics/Paralympics stands for! BE ASHAMED.
If you look even closer...You will see Lebron Traveling

No Olympic rule says that Lip synching is not allowed and 08 game had the most real elements at both opening and closing ceremony! Come on, the opening ceremony is just a performance like any other performance. Most previous olympic games had the same thing! According to American fans' logic, all Hollywood movies are fake. Were those Native culture performance at the 1996 Atlanta game real American Indians? Obvious not! Of course, most real native Americans were killed.
