The George Bush Sr quote is in dispute. The only admitted witness to the quote was the journalist who reported it. His secondary witness denied hearing the quote and the journalist changed his comments regarding this. Information secured from the Bush administration neither confirms nor denies the comment, only showing that the administration was concerned if damage control was needed regarding the public's perception of the alleged quote.

Adolf Hitler ... was a disciple of Friedrich Nietzsche. ... Hitler hated Christianity with a passion which rivaled Lenin's. Shortly after assuming power in 1933, he told Hermann Rauschnig that he intended 'to stamp out Christianity root and branch.' 'One is either a Christian or a German — you cannot be both,'

Hmmm... and how many Christians do not regard Catholics as Christians, hmmm? Perhaps it works both ways.

You also have German soldiers wearing crosses on the buckles, the Nazi Party burning Darwin's books, them believing the Aryan race was superior due to "Divine Right", etc.

I don't have problems with people complaining about rules. I have a HUGE problem with rules that make no sense. Why should I be forced to follow a religion's nonsensical rules when I lack belief that the religion is true?

In a secular society, the rules should be logically derived and make sense. If someone has a belief structure with added rules, they should follow those without forcing those rules on everyone else.

So basically, you just care because the religions are interfering with your rights. Fair enough. My only question is, let's say you and I are talking, and I mention I'm religious. Would you try to convince me not to follow it right there and then, or wait and see what kind of religious person I am? Because I agree; restricting rights or making comments that "Atheists are not US Citizens" IS ridiculous just because one is atheist, and I can see why someone would want to fight against that.

Whilst my life is affected by the religious beliefs of others, I reserve the right to question the basis for those beliefs and ask for compelling evidence for them.

I'm sorry for the way some Christians have treated you. Please know that real christians love everyone and abide by Gods strongest commandment: love your neighbour as you love yourself. I hope one day you will meet christians that will make you have a different, possibly better perspective on Jesus.

It's more likely it's the other way around. 50 years from now we may grieve about how theism destroyed civilization but then it is too late. Christian fanatics who were working for doomsday hoping Jesus would come up, when civilization destroyed and Jesus did not appear it still did not deter them from believing in their superstitious non-sense. Mark my words.

The problem is that the evidence says otherwise.

Seems to me that Pennsylvanias article doesn't belong there together with Arkansas etc, it merely states that being religious should not disqualify them for office - which is a completely different thing than saying that not being religious disqualifies them for office or for being witnesses. Or did I misunderstand something here?
