Executive Secretary Tibor Tóth on the Capacity Development Initiative (CDI)

The CTBTO has launched the Capacity Development Initiative consisting of the establishment of a network of partnerships to strengthen and broaden participation in its global monitoring and verification efforts and facilitate access to the many associated civil and scientific benefits. This initiative comprises a series of courses ranging from introductory levels to more advanced levels, which are offered in Vienna and available on-line in real time as well as on an e-learning platform.

The CTBTO would like to highlight the generous contributions provided by Austria and Norway towards the Capacity Development Initiative, and in particular the upcoming Advanced Science Course on the CTBT verification technologies. Without such substantial contributions, these initiatives would not be possible. Through their generous contributions, Austria and Norway demonstrate a shared vision with the CTBTO to train and educate the next generation of experts on the CTBT.
