Dave! I had not talked to Dave in some time, but thought of him often. Our little crew shared some great and crazy times together. He was a true waterman and a hero to me always. I'm glad Brian told me about this video. This is how I remember Dave, it seems that he was able to remain true to the things really important to him. I have talked to quite a few people now that I havn't talked to in years and I'm glad everyone seems to be ok. I will always think of you Dave.
Although I didn't know him personally, tragic news is always hard to swallow as it gives us each a taste of our own mortality. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all his friends and family in this time of great loss. Apostle Charles> Faith, Hope, Love & Truth Ministries
Awful, awful News! I was stationed with Dave at Barbers Point back in the late 90's/early 00's. What a top-notch cat. He loved his family, job and his fellow Coasties...even the ones on the support side of the house. The world is truly a lesser place with him not here. A real tragedy. Thanks for being the point-man for this. Glad you let Andy know - he was one of the first people I thought of when I heard this. By the way, I was just up in Cayucos for a week last week. Gorgeous up there.
Good to hear from you as well. I live on the central cal coast, near san luis obispoIm going to hawaii tues. for the services, and his mom, who still lives in berdoo, is planning a ceremony that is open to all in a couple of weeks.I called Andy Oakes and let him know, but that's it of the old crew. His wife asked that I let any of his old friends know, and I'm at a loss, so feel free to spread the word. I'll post the specifics of the S.B. memorial when I know.
Oh man, good to hear from you and sad it has to be under such lame circumstances. Just hooked up with Wes Davis (the bass player) tonight and we did some major grieving and reminiscing. Are you still in So Cal? If so, we were talking about having a memorial of some sort. And were wondering how many of the crew were aware of this tragedy. - Brian
Dave was my oldest and best friend, I'd known him since we were kids, pretty much learned to surf with him and had countless crazy adventures with him. He was an entirely unique, creative and hilarious individual who I'll sorely miss. RIP Schemin Skimin, I loved you like a brother.-Brian
Yes, Dave was the founder, creator and guitarist of the peptic everybody. Hi Brian, I was the bongo player in the band with you, Brian. Dave was my best friend since we were kids and there will never be another person like him. What a unique character.
