  • interesting concept, too bad not many people on youtube know what a soliton wave is

  • Just doing my part to get the word out about solitons. We have used the cannon in several science fair type settings and freely loan it out. A girl scout troop has had it for a couple of weeks as part of their science activities. The thing is a real crowd pleaser for the Junior high set.

How did you come to know about solitons?

  • Has anybody tried using smoke-ring launchers to fire cannibis smoke rings? That would be like a remote bong.

  • @dfluitt Reading about topological defects on wikipedia taught me about solitons, although I'm sure I heard the word soliton before, probably on Star Trek when I ws little.

  • the swedes have developed this technology into some kind of weapon that can send a toroidal vortex ring a metre wide, 100 metres at varying intensities causing injury to death.
