Vitrectomy and scleral buckle for retinal detachment and macular hole. This 56 year old woman has had decreasing vision for 1 week from a retinal detachment with a macular hole. The visual acuity is 20/800. This video shows some blood because of the extensive surgery. Vision ultimately improved to 20/40 with glasses.

Don't let this video scare you. If you think you might have a detached retina or any other eye problem, see your eye doctor immediately. Go to someone good; do a little research on the internet, ask people who might know. Just don't go to anybody -- but go!

guys 'm a cashier and 2 days ago in line where i never thought something might harm me, a chemical bottle, where its cap cam off, then its nozzle as well, trying to get the nozzle back on, looking closely at the nozzle, pushing it back on, so I sprayed my eyes,w washed my eyes, then the other day to the doctor, who saw a suspected retinal detachment, my question, how dangerous is it and what if i wait to treat it, does it get worse with time, would i get blind? thanks in advance.

i had this happen in november and they literally removed it. but thats fucked how they remove it and yea my retina was detached from a hockey stick that was swong at my face right under my eye
