A hybrid, with the opening solo inspired by a "false start" from the reissued Mr. Wonderful CD, followed by stuff from the original "released" version. The guitar is my '05 Faded Standard, with the usual LCPG mods, except with Sperzel tuners AND a Gibson P120 in the neck postion, with the magnet flipped, of course. A Manalishi pickup is in the bridge position. A little unusual combination, and it would probably sound better with a Manalishi in the neck, but it adds a little single coil variety among the three Faded Standards I gig with. I will be taking this guitar to Ukraine next time we go and leave it there for return trips. I always manage to do a few gigs whenever I'm over there. They love the blues, and, surprisingly, some are aware of the original Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green. I played a gig in a tiny town called Nikopol, and afterwards some guy came up to me and said, "Larry, Peter Green is like a schoolboy next to you on Black Magic Woman." After correcting his obvious mistake (please, NEVER say I remotely compare to Peter Green), we had a long talk about Peter Green music and this guy knew his stuff. A pleasant surprise! When my band played "I Loved Another Woman" in Zaporozhye (video on You Tube), the audience began to applaud when I sang the first line. Very cool!

  • fantastic, Sir!!

You were playing in the bridge position, right?

  • @zeppeliin No, it is in the middle position, out of phase.

  • My folks go to the Ukraine a few time a year. They say it's beautiful. I just remember hearing of the town Lance Corona. I'll have to tell them to check you out if your there.

  • Great job !

  • Larry,

I have asked before but no reply..can you tell me how much for an LCPG guitar..I have a LP but worry about shipping..does one buy the instrument/conversion outright?..

  • Well done! I love this track; you have certainly got that authentic Peter Green sound, wonderful.

  • GRACIAS MAESTRO !!

  • Your guitar and playing sounds great but i'm stuck looking at how beautiful your guitar LOOKS haha

  • Very authentic sound, congrats ! you rulz

  • very nice indeed

  • Tell me about your guitar's sound, have been reversing your micro, like Peter Green did?

  • haha awesome lesson : "peter green's solo how to"

  • @lzvrsam you've got to have the pickups balanced, both volumes at around the same, or it won't work. If you try turning one of the pots with the selector in the middle you'll hear the out of phase sound come in an out, it's very subtle, so be prepared to experiment.

    Cheers, Zakk
