with this DICE device, using an ipod, can you change the songs and volume through the wheel commands, just like when you're listening to a CD?

The volume button works normally.

Arrow buttons:

Depending upon what you have pressed on the head unit:

Preset button -1 (Song Mode) - pressing up/down arrows will skip tracks

Preset button -2 (Playlist Mode) - pressing up/down arrows will skip to the next playlist in alphabetical order.

Buttons 3 and 4 also do Artist and Album lists,
