this was clearly a movie that impressed you in many ways. is it an original screenplay or is it based on a novel?

@blkfrhwk Thank you for the question! It's based on the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". I will make sure to update my video annotations. :)

@blkfrhwk, it is based on a novel, but the novel was based on actual chinese historic events. the characters in the movie are real historical figures in chinese history, as are the battles have really occurred in places that to this day still exists and you can visit these locations in China in the province of Hubei.

Sounds like an awesome film and based on your review, I will definitely check it out. John Woo has always been ahead of the curve in redefining action films, so I'm glad to hear that he's still putting together top notch films.:-)
