From KETC, LIVING ST. LOUIS Producer Jim Kirchherr talks with author and St. Louis native A.E. Hotchner. Raised poor in St. Louis, Hotchner went on to a successful career as a writer, but his most personal work remains "King of the Hill," the memoir of his life as a boy growing up. Hotchner talks about how he came to write "King of the Hill," and how his early years still shape the work he does well into his 80s.

i am writing a paper on Mr. Hotchner at the University of WIndsor, Ont. Canada. I chose him after finding a link to view "King of the Hill" - a film I watched as a child and for some reason never forgot. Amazing film, and admirable character.

What a treat! I am Hotch's daughter and onlyhope to last as long as he has, in as great shape as he is, in order to even approach the level of his achievements.

A.E.Hotchner is my father-in-law, someone we take for granted... thanx Ketc for reminding me not to do that again... Franklin
