On June 27, 2009 while photographing the Michael Jackson Memorial on the Hollywood Boulevard, my camera was grabbed and pushed into my face by Andrews International security guard Vasquez #782 for photographing an encounter involving Vasquez #782, Andrews International personnel, and a man who was heckling reporters covering the scene. All of this took place on the public portion of the Boulevard.

  • What an annoying asshole you are. Seriously, why don't you hook up with the nearest occupy movement so you can surround yourself with fellow agitators. Don't you have anything better to do than try and lure a guy just trying to make a living into kicking your ass and possibly losing his job. The man was being pretty reasonable with you and the "protestor". Personally, were I him, I would have made you eat that camera.

  • @michaelboyceharris Oh christ, another keyboard warrior.

"Personally, were I him, I would have made you eat that camera."

You want my address tough guy?

  • @romeo9463

Who told you that? What law is being violated? Why do you think video cameras are everywhere? Do you think the law is different for corporations and government?

How is the privacy of a private mall security guard who thinks he can be on a public sidewalk and order someone to do something when in the real world he has zero authority to order anybody to do anything being violated?

    Explain.

  • @discarted

He's right you know. Videotaping someone without their consent is a felony, punishable by up to three years incarceration. Corporations and the government have stationary cameras. You have a camcorder, walking around, invading privacy left and right.

You're wrong...learn the law as well as constitutional rights. Specifically, the First Amendment.

    "You are not the press."

Hilarious buddy. Since when does credentialed press have more rights than non-credentialed press?

Constitution applies to all, including people who have never read it or even understand it.

  • @Romansteel13 you're stupid

  • @romeo9463 you're wrong

  • From what I've read here, the USA has a serious problem with private security companies who think their employees can behave exactly how they like. Here, in the UK, private security companies and their employees have to be licensed. Step out of line and you can lose your licence. And if you lose your licence, you won't get it back. Put pressure on the US governments (state and federal) to get tough with private security companies and their employees.
