On July, 18th, 2010 the important motorway A40/B1 in Ruhr-Metropolis will be closed for all the traffic on a distance of 60 kilometers between Duisburg and Dortmund in order to make it possible to celebrate culture on this motorway as a project of the European Capital Of Culture Essen/Ruhr 2010. In this video you can see the A40 in Essen-Holsterhausen from Hobeisenbrücke in the direction to the city of Essen with normal traffic a few days before "Still-Life". On July, 18th I will make a video from the same point of view and you will be able to compare them. Info: http://www.essen-fuer-das-ruhrgebiet.ruhr2010.de/no_cache/en/event-search.htm...

  • Thanks for nice local news. A question, Dusseldorf and Essen formerly belong to east side or west side?

  • @videouzleg

Hello, thank you for your comment!

Düsseldorf and Essen formerly belonged to West Germany. the former frontier was somewhere between Hannover (west) and Berlin. Berlin was devided into west and east and was situated in East Germany like an island. Essen and Düsseldorf are less than 100 kilometers from the Netherlands.
