Learn to cook Egusi stew in minutes. Various Egusi soups are favorites in Western Africa. The soup is thickened with flour ground from seeds of a species of Cucurbitaceae (which includes gourds, melons, pumpkins, and squashes, many of which are native to Africa). In Western Africa, these plants and seeds, as well as soups and stews made with them, are all called Egusi, and this is the name most commonly used outside of Africa.

  • Thanks for posting the video. I sometimes use curry in mine and sometimes I dont. The point of the video is to show ONE way of cooking egusi so for all those who already know how to cook and are bashing the video...stick to you own way and let the beginners or those who want to experiment learn a different way. Why cant people just appreciate someone's efforts for once? Or then again...post your own video so others learn from you.

  • @Nbaenziger Really? How come all out fore fathers did not die before they knew it? lol. And I know palm oil has some fat in it which is the point you are trying to pass across but it will never taste the same or even look the same if you make Egusi soup with Olive oil. Palm oil has carotene in it for anyone who does not know which is really good for the body ... good for sight for one

If interested google "palm oil, carotene" you should find helpful info ... could not add a link or would have
