i own and Rx-8 2005 gt, and i can tell you is not the best car in drag race.. no much torque. but no z will beat me after 60 and up.. they all get scared after 110 MPH, its simple.. they cant control the car,(Z). rx8 its pretty stable.... whats the point of having a car with a lot hp if u cant contro it? Rx-8 rocks cuz no many cars handle like they do!!

@jacobasael oh yea true! i traded in my rx8 for a z... i almost pissed myself when i took a turn doing 55. and i was able to take that turn doing around 65 in the 8.. both are good cars but the 8 was more forgiving and the 350z will just put an axe in your back if you screw up! lol

i own a rx8....yes i agree that stock they are not that impressive....but i must say if u do little to them they can and will beat sti's, gti's, s2k's, 5.0's, gt's, cobalt ss weather sc or tc, srt4's, rt charger/challengers, very close to srt chargers and challengers, 350z's, g35's....etc u catch my drift....i am a part of a local car clubs and on any good night we are out racing and i can personally vouch for this. i have no reason to lie, yes i have lost to some, but i have beat plenty.

rotaries dont need torque.. thats all ppl talk about.. power and torque is just a number.. driving is what counts..

@shamo1989 with the mods you say you have, you prob make around 180-190 rear wheel horsepower. Stock RX-8s ususally dyno 160-175 wheel horsepower. So Im sure you don't get 255-260 wheel horsepower. A exhaust system and CAI won't give you 100 whp. with 260 whp you would be able to prob crush a stock WRX/STi in 3-4th gear and I doubt u currently are. If you want real power to the ground your gonna need to think of engine swap/ turbo/supercharge. Look into Mazda's 20b rotary engine

@shamo1989 Wow you don't actually think that your RX-8 actually makes 238 horsepower at the wheels do you? Ok ima give you the run down... The horsepower number that mazda gave you is called Flywheel horsepower. That means that the horsepower is measured at the flywheel... Not the wheels. In order to get an accurate wheel horsepower measurement you need to dyno your car. Most tuning shops have them. Sorry to burst your bubble but your car does is not putting down 238 horsepower to the pavement

@joshtard1111 why is it only 200hp... mine stock had 238hp bro...after exaust and intake i got around 255 to260 whp...i am sure 06 Z faster

i just dont like Z even if it is 08 i am racing every fridays and sat....so thats why i am saing i am going to put turbo pretty soon.....safing money 06 350Z will cry
