Lilium floruit - Versus de St Martial

Ensemble Beatus

Olivier Marcaud, ténor
Jean-Paul Rigaud, baryton
Emmanuel Bouquey, baryton
Evelyne Moser, vièle
Jean-Paul Rigaud, direction

  • This is one of my favorites, absolutely! I admire very much the work that Ensemble Beatus did about the correct rendering of the rhythms and of the durations, respecting the natural flexibility of the spoken words, and the fluent, natural way the melismas (quick ornamental notes) are rendered here (by learning how to perform them also from the orally-transmitted ethnic traditional music). This is a top quality, highly credible and very faithful performance, one that makes the difference.

  • GREAT!!
