Veterans Day of Remembrance at Germanna Community College

Roy Branklin, a retired Marine and a student at Germanna Community College, opens the 2011 Veterans Day National Day of Remembrance Roll Call ceremony at GCC with a statement. Germanna Vice President for Workforce & Community Relations Jeanne Wesley follows with the beginning of a series of readings of the names of over 6,000 American casualties of 10 years of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. The same ceremony was going on simultaneously at Germanna's Locust Grove Campus. GCC was one of about 200 colleges across the nation participating in the Roll Call. The event was organized by Germanna Counselor Katey Denner, the GCC Veterans Affairs Office and the Germanna Veterans Association student club.
