Like the Teenage Engineering OP-1, the Muse Musebox is a product we've been watching for a while; also like the OP-1, there was a functional production prototype ion display at Winter NAMM 2011/ At the Muse Research booth we were treated to a spec run down and some mighty fine piano playing.

The Musebox looks smart in its road-ready metal chassis, and even though it doesn't have the raw processing horsepower of its big brothers at the show (the Receptor 2+ series) it still handled complex multisample instruments with ease and virtually non-existent latency. The Musebox is slated to ship with Peavey ReValver amp modeling software and other preloaded programs for making use of the front-panel combi XLR-1/4" jacks right out of the box.

  • Will the Musebox support Sampletank, particularly Sampletron? Also, why not offer different iterations, like you do for Receptor, such as "Workstation", etc., which are specific to the end-user? I'm also curious why you didn't go with a single-space 19" rack-mount module? Wouldn't that be more practical for fitting into existing road gear racks?
