Organisations today need to engage with a workforce that is fundamentally different in one specific aspect. With an increasing number of employees from Gen Y, this is a workforce that is 'pre-trained' in social media and tools even before they join work. That is, they already have some comfort and pre-existing awareness of business and consumer applications that are inherently social in nature. It is therefore vital for organisations to leverage social tools internally to empower their people with the ability to connect with their universe at work.
